Samsung SE-S084B/RSBN External Slim USB DVD-Writer

Samsung SE-S084B/RSBN External Slim USB DVD-Writer

The DVD-writer worked fine, but I intended to use it to play DVD's on my new netbook, as well. However, the software included with the unit did not play DVD's without an upgrade in the software that was included with the unit. The software upgrade was more expensive that the DVD-writer unit, so I returned it for a full refund! Thanks Amazon.com for standing behind the product, but I felt that you could have done a better job matching up the Samsung netbook with the equipment and software needed to playback DVD's.

Sony DVP-FX820 8-Inch Portable DVD Player

Sony_DVD_Player.jpg
Sony_DVD_Player.jpg

The High Definition Screen truly gives your regular DVD's the look of a Blu-Ray or HD DVD....I have them both in my den and I safely say it's very close to that quality...maybe not exactly....but until they come out with portable units for Blu-Ray...this is going to be the closest I think you can get !

The screen on this one is 800 x 480 resolution where as most of the players out there have a 320 X 240 screen....that's a very big difference and it really shows.

Sony DRXS70U External Portable Slim-Line USB 2.0 DVD Drive

External_DVD Drive.jpg

I've been searching for a slim external drive and being portable. There are tons out there being external, a few claims to be slim. This Sony takes the cake! It is extremely light comprared to other external drive. Speed of burning isn't too bad. The only complain is it would be nice to be able to use USB power supply rather than having to carry the power block around as well.

Lite-On SATA 20x Super All Write LightScribe Internal DVD/Dual Layer RW Drive (LH20A1L06)

Dual_Layer_RW_Drive.jpg

Great product. Had issues installing it using the SATA power and data fields, I had to purchase the power adapter as I have an older machine. The product will not work properly with much older processors, but I did manage to install it into a machine only a few years old. Burning speeds are based on your processor etc... so mine will not burn at full capabilities, but it all works well.
