Netgear GS108 ProSafe 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Desktop Switch
This product works well for me. I have three wired computers connected to it as well as my Netgear WG102 wireless access point. Upstream from the router is my Netgear FR114P wired-only router and from that my Motorola SB5100 cable modem. I've had this setup for 6 months now and no lockups or wierd reboots from any of the equipment. After dealing with flakey networking problems for almost 3 years from various equipment, I now swear by Netgear "blue box" equipment. (And I've had issues with Netgear consumer "white plastic" equipment, among other brands of consumer equipment.)

D-Link DNS-323 2-Bay Network Storage Enclosure
It's a new product, and surely firmware updates will make it more stable as time goes on. Now on v1.02. But overall, I've had a great time with this, and few problems other than the normal Windows network browsing issues.
I am now running backups from three systems to this NAS without any issues (Mac, Linux, and XP). The speed is very good on gigabit ethernet.

NETGEAR GA311 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Adapter
On the Netgear site, there are no drivers, only 2 pdf docs (included on the CD), and the only download is the initial firmware release which is totally useless because there is no other firmware to install (the only reason why you'd want the initial releae). On Netgear's operating system compatibility page, http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/n101252.asp, the section for the GA311 is totally blank, indicating that the company's support people don't even have any info on their own product.
I've never had a problem with Netgear products and use them frequently. However, the GA311 card is a total bomb regarding Windows 2000. With a severe lack of support on the Netgear web site, I'd be leery of buying this card

HP LaserJet P2015dn Printer
The really nice surprise was that my ethernet hub is an old 10base-T, and yet the P2015dn still fires out each page at blinding speed. The machine doesn't make a sound until it has processed the job, then starts firing the pages out. Duplexing works perfectly. The extra money spent on this dn model payed in simplicity of installation.

D-Link DGS-2208 8-Port 10/100/1000 Desktop Switch
This is one of the few present-day unmanaged gigE switches which appears to do speed and duplex negotiation properly. It negotiates speed/duplex successfully with the following vendor's PHYs: Broadcom, Intel, Marvell Yukon/Yukon II, and nVidia (nForce 4). Verified using both Windows XP drivers and FreeBSD drivers.

HP P2015D Monochrome Laserjet Printer
I purchased the 2015d directly from HP. The automatic (vs. manual) duplex function was my main purchase criteria, thus the choice of the 2015d rather than the 2015. Specs at the HP site stated that the 2015d is "certified for Windows Vista" and is "Windows Vista ready". These statements are misleading: Vista does not support the automatic duplex function of this printer. After many hours of effort, I called HP tech support and they confirmed/shared this info post-purchase.

APC BR1500LCD 1500VA 865 Watts 8 Outlets BACK-UPS
the UPS allows for hibernaton to complete is FIXED at 2 minutes and there is no way to change this. I discovered this problem during testing and APC's tech support confirmed this limitiation and recommended that I buy one of their "Smart-UPS" systems instead which has an time allowance that can be set. Just test your "time to hibernate" before you buy, and consider what may happen if you upgrade to a larger system down the road.

APC SUA1000 Smart-UPS 1000VA for servers and voice and data networks
I have had other APC battery backup's in the past, and the only negative comment about the product is the size and space required for the unit. Given our power failures, brown out, and the high wind and storms in our area the APC does an excellent job. I have not only my desktop PC, but my scanner, printer and digital camera on the system and it has saved my equipment numerous time for the power surges and failures.

Original SoftGel Laptop Wrist Rest
I had been looking for something like this for a while for my Toshiba Satellite A205 laptop, which gets hot right beneath where I rest my wrists when typing. I spend a lot of time at the computer and it seemed like I had developed a permanent case of "Sweaty Wrist." No fun when you're trying to concentrate and be comfortable. I tried a wrist rest for a regular desktop keyboard but it was too thick and left my hands up too high for comfortable typing. This product seemed like it could be the perfect fix.

Fellowes Gel Flex Transparent Mini
The Fellowes Gel Flex Wrist rest works better then a bean filled one because it is FIRM and stays firm! The bean filled ones sag after you have your wrist resting on it for long periods of time. The Fellowes wrist rest worked instantly when I first used it. Plus, it's pretty and fun to poke it because it's squishy. I highly reccommend it, and I definitely am going to pick up the keyboard rest!

Microsoft Natural Keyboard Elite
The keyboard has all the regular keys laid out fairly well. It only takes a few minutes getting used to the split board. The cursor moving arrows and special function keys are in groups between the letters and number pad, which works well. One thing that seems strange is that the upper row, the numbers, are split between 6 and 7, instead of between 5 and 6. That's because there are the dashes and such on the right of that row. Seems strange though sometimes. You get used to it pretty quick. The wrist pad extension seems good too.

Brother HL-2170w 23ppm Laser Printer with Wireless & Wired Network Interfaces
The Brother laser printer is very small, yet holds 250 pages which is far more than my old one. It wakes up in less than 10 seconds then prints pages lightening fast. The print quality is sharp and clear. I have the printer in my office and connected it directly to my PC with the USB cable. However, I also have a laptop about 10 feet away that I wanted to setup wireless to the laser printer. Well, that is where the problems began.

Dell XPS M1330 13.3 Inch Laptop Computer
This is a nice starter computer, but beware, Dell screens are so dim they cannot be read easily in bright light environments. If you want to sit outside and read your e-mail, DO NOT BUY a Dell laptop. I wish I had known this before I bought the Dell XPS 1330, and I would have bought a Sony instead.

Transcend 16GB SDHC CARD (SD 2.0 SPD CLASS 6) with Compact Card Reader
Best thing about vacations is that they give you the perfect reason to go out and buy new toys!!! I'm heading to Costa Rica for 8 days of adventure and after looking fondly at my Canon SD850IS, the first thing I thought was, "I'm going to need more space". The one mistake I made when I purchased my 2GB SD card was underestimating how much video I'd take with this little camera (which this camera is surprisingly good at).
